a good day

Let me brag on my man for a few.

Today it was gorgeous here. It was 60 degrees and that's awesome for January. We knew it was supposed to be warm so we had planned to take the crew to the zoo.
But, I was sick this week - I missed 2 days of work.
Jaycie started coughing this morning.
We decided that we probably shouldn't take the babies out - mainly to be careful of any wind issues.

Jadyn knew we were thinking about going to the zoo but was totally cool when I told her we probably were not going to get to go.
In steps Daddy. He thought it would be fun to take Jadyn to the zoo, so off they went! They got to go to Africa because we didn't have the babies. (I currently refuse to go that far with the babies when they are older I will reverse my stance.)

They had a blast.

They sent me this picture..

Then because he was on a role...

Tonight Jadyn was in the bath tub and Daddy decided to take her to get ice cream.
She hopped out.
She put her jammies on and grabbed her slippers.
I pulled up her wet hair
and
off they went for a late night ice cream run.

Sure, she went to bed an hour late and was freezing (we snuggled and she's good).
She also went to bed with a HUGE smile and a happy heart.

And, so is Mama.

A new toy

For Christmas my Mom and Dad got Jaycie and Jemma a couple of new toys. One we opened right away the other we saved for a "needed" time. We reached that moment this past weekend. My favorite part? Jadyn plays with it more that the girls. :)

Jaycie got a chance to play first - She loved playing with the balls.

What a sweet little smile! I think she's finally working on her top two teeth. She's been "out of sorts" the last couple of days - including some snuggle time with Daddy (I'm TOTALLY JEALOUS) tonight - which if you read the blog you know is not like her AT ALL.

Oh sweet Jemma! She popped both her front top teeth though over the weekend. She's been happier today than she has been in weeks.

Playing together!

Where's Jadyn?

There she is.:)

Sisters

I read in a book that twins "discover" each other around 9 months old. That it's like they suddenly realize there is another person there. Not that they haven't beat each other up, slobbered on each other, etc prior to that, but that they start talking to each other.

Our twins have dropped their evening nap. Up until a few weeks ago they slept for 2 naps during the day and another at about 5:30-6:30. It worked perfectly with our dinner time. :)
Well, the time came that they needed to drop the evening nap. Most nights they play in the play yard while we eat, but when they are especially fussy we put them in their cribs to "play" while we eat.

Last week we were doing all this and a couple of things happened.

1. Jemma pulled up in her crib for the first time. She's pulled up in the play yard before, but this was the first time in her crib.

2. They "found" each other.

Take a look:

Jemma showing off in her crib :)

I can't remember if I've ever shared these signs before. My good friend, Kendra the art teacher at our school made these for the girls. She matched the flower shapes and colors to their sheets. So sweet!

A funny little thing - We had to switch the girls from one crib to the other when they first moved to the cribs. Jaycie wouldn't sleep in her original crib! :) Stinker. She sleeps like a champ in the other crib.

Please ignore the mess! Here they are talking to each other. I wish  I had video. It was so cute. See Jemma laughing and Jaycie is making her Jaycie face!

Big Sis was wanting to be included :) She's such an awesome big sister!

We moved the littles to one crib for a few minutes (before they could beat the tar out of each other). They enjoyed it for a few!

Twirling in the Snow

Every single time I use the word twirling I think of You've Got Mail - one of my all time faves! I have lots and lots of memories wrapped around that movie which involve a few special people. Needless to say, twirling ALWAYS brings a smile to my face!

Anyway, I have a twirler. At least one. Jadyn loves to twirl.

So, Monday when it started snowing and it was HUGE, GIANT snowflakes I thought I'd take the opportunity to let my girl twirl in the snow. She picked out her fancy dress and out we went. I was hoping that the snowflakes would show up better in the pictures - they didn't BUT the pictures are beautiful regardless!

Even though we were only out for a few minutes it was awesome. One of the magical moments. I'm sorry I know I sound cheesy - but it was!!
 She loved it! Loved it!
You can see the twirling action of her skirt in this one.

You can see the snowflakes in this one! And, I love this face. She is just a JOY to have around and I adore her -  in case you couldn't tell :)

And really, can you believe I caught this on camera? I took this picture of us while balancing and I got this goodie! Awesome!

Love my twirler and glad that twirling now has more reason to make me smile!

Top 12 of 2012

2012 is the first year I have ever set and kept a New Year's Resolution. My 2012 resolution - to survive.

And I did!
And (if I may toot my own horn) I did it well.
Not perfect, but well.

So, today as I prepare to go back to work tomorrow and get back into a routine again (some new changes and some not) I thought I'd reflect on my top 12 moments of 2012. So, here we go!

1. The arrival of Jaycie Marie and Jemma Carmen.

2. The day that both Jaycie and Jemma were finally home

 3. Watching Jaydn Millee become such an awesome big sister!

4. Trips to the pool

5. The babies getting off their monitors!
6. Zoo time!

7. Our visit with Santa
8. Our first holiday season

9. Halloween

10. Finding outfits for all 3 girls

11. Girl time with miss Jadyn

12. Really, just being a Mommy to these three munchkins.

2012 was a good year to us. We are excited to see what 2013 brings!
