My sweet little babies are 11 weeks old. Their adjusted age is 5 weeks old. That's what we get to do for 2 years - adjust their age. Everything involves math :). When babies are born preemies you take the number of weeks they were early and subtract it from their actual age - this gives you their adjusted age. Their adjusted age is how we measure their progress - their advancement in life. We get to keep this until they reach 2 years old and then they are supposed to be caught up.

So, although my babies are 11 weeks old, their adjusted age is 5 weeks. My babies are sleeping through the night. We implemented baby wise last week. The babies slept 5 hours the first night, 6 the next, and 8 the three after that. Then last night they slept 10! Awesome! I'm anxious to see what happens tonight. Once they are consistently sleeping though the night we can start adjusting the day time feedings to more liquid and less feedings and eventually I'd like to get them to bed a little earlier. Jadyn is an early riser so any "alone" time (errands, laundry, tv watching...) needs to be in the evening.

Any way here are a few cutie pictures of my big girls - 11weeks or 5 weeks!

Jemma

The big girls when they woke up.

I got my sewing machine out and made Jadyn this dress during nap time Yesterday. Then today I made her a blanket. She's been our night time intruder the last few nights and I've promoted her to the floor - it works best for all of us. Yes, her smile in this pictures is fake. She told me she doesn't like the dress. :)

Oh well.

Playmat time!

Last weekend the girls were more awake before they ate so I decided to get out the play mat. It was so cute! They "played" on it for about 15 minutes before they began to get fussy. Since then I've started the babywise technique and now they have play time after each feeding for about 30 minutes. They take turns on the play mat and in the bouncy seat. I will get more pictures soon! .

The flash was on.... they aren't big fans :)

Jemma is looking in the mirror...she looks scared!

A couple other pictures:
Last Sunday we were at Starbucks with my parents and Jaycie had a blowout in her cute little outfit (not pictured.... you're welcome). I didn't have any backup clothes with me (bad Mother) but there was NO WAY she could leave the other clothes on. My Mom found one of Jadyn's sweaters in my jeep so we put it on Jaycie. :) It worked. I was afraid of how Jadyn would react. She was priceless. She didn't notice until we were in the car on our way home and then she said "Mommy, is that my sweater?" I told her yes and she said "That was so nice of me to share." I almost died laughing :)

Wednesday morning we were running around trying to get ready for the day and I needed a minute to get bottles for the babies. Jemma was already up so I asked Jadyn if she would "watch" her for me. Jadyn was thrilled and when I peaked back in on them this is what I saw! SO cute!!

The trampoline

Jadyn got a trampoline for Christmas a year or two ago. When we got it we set it up in the basement. It was genius. She could jump year round, be confined in basement (it's not finished so it's not safe for her to be "free"), and she got exercise. This past Christmas she got a Disney castle for her Disney barbies and it's huge. We had to choose: castle or trampoline. The castle won so we boxed up the trampoline until spring. This past weekend we decided to put the trampoline outside. Jadyn calls it her jumpy house. She also acted like Greg physically built every single piece of the trampoline. It was so sweet. She goes out and jumps every day. She loves it! I love that she gets outside. I'm sure we will have many more pictures to come of the trampoline this summer.

Jadyn helping Daddy put together the trampoline

She kept hugging him and saying "thank you Daddy, so much"

Finally jumping.... in her rain boots!

She spotted the camera. Let the crazy faces begin.

More crazy!

This pretty much sums up my  baby girl.

I love her! She looks like she's so big here! I can't believe how fast time goes. It makes her crazy night time issues not so annoying.

Graduation Day is finally here

Jadyn got to go to preschool a year early. It was a HUGE blessing, financially, to us because she got to go for free as one of my benefits at work. Her teachers are dear friends of mine and they suggested it because Jadyn is so sharp for her age.

She LOVED it.

She did really well in class, so well that now we aren't sure how she is going to not get bored the next two years in preschool again before kindergarten. Pray for us :)

She had a graduation ceremony and program last Friday. She's been talking about it for weeks. They sang a ton of songs, recited their alphabet, Bible verses, and many other things. They ended with the song "Graduation day is finally here!" She did so well staying with the group doing her motions and singing the songs - much better than she did the first of the year. I really can't believe how much she learned. She is a sponge just soaking things in! Anyway, here are some pictures from the big day! I'm so proud of my girl!

Here she is marching in!

Ready to sing! The little girl to the right of her is her "best friend"

Here are the little friends! They played together every single day! Usually house, sometimes kitchen . :)

Maybe the wheels on the bus?

I like this one because it looks like they are both crying! However, Miss Gayle will be hanging out with us this Summer.... I'm excited to see how Jadyn handles that!

My little graduate!

Jadyn, we are so proud of you!

Jemma

Jemma is our youngest - only by a minute, but still the youngest. She is the loudest. She is so much like her Daddy already it is crazy! She doesn't say a whole lot, but when she gets hungry she's hungry! There is no warm up it's just quiet quiet quiet and then SCREAM SCREAM SCREAM until she gets her bottle. I think that she and Greg will be really close because they are so much alike, except for in high school when they will drive each other crazy. She is bigger than Jaycie and a better eater, but she smiled after Jaycie.

This girl has had more blowouts than Jadyn ever had total and more than Jaycie has had. She has several a week. It goes up her back to her armpits or sometimes it comes out the front. It's so gross!!! I've had to research stain removers so we don't ruin all the clothes. It's just crazy crazy! Poor Jemma always ends up in the bathtub 2nd, which means that she gets on the bath chair after Jaycie so it's so cold! I keep meaning to switch it up but I just never seem to remember!

Jemma. She has pretty blue eyes too!

Jemma is on the left. She has her leg on top of Jaycie. This is so how their personalities have been since the womb.

Jemma has a harder time going to sleep but she sleeps longer once she does. Overall I feel like everything she does is hardcore. If her personality stays the same she will make a great athlete. I love this girly!!

Jaycie

The girls are 8 weeks old today and I need to stop and remind myself about each of them - separately. We were told before the girls were born that they are fraternal twins, but 2 weeks ago at our last NICU follow-up appointment the doctor said she thought they may be identical. The only way to know for sure is an expensive test so we will just wait and see! I can tell you though that they have moments of being very different and every day I see more changes in their personalities.

Jaycie seems to be the more even tempered of the two. She was this way in the womb too. She loves to be snuggled, she likes to sleep with her hands tucked in to her halo sack, when she's hungry she cries but as soon as I pick her up she seems to know that it's coming and calms down. She is slow eater. She almost always finishes but takes her sweet time. She has "thrown up" 3 times. It's a massive spit up and isn't pleasant. Last time I had to take a shower after she did it because it went down my shirt and in my hair. It seems to happen most when I try to get her to finish off the bottle or when she is trying to poop and eat at the same time.  Her fussy time is in the evening and can be resolved by holding her (which is great except it's during Jadyn's bed time....and Jadyn doesn't like company during her time!).

Currently during the night Jaycie and I are a team. I am grateful for the extra snuggle time during the night with her. Often times during the day she eats first so I don't get to snuggle with her after she's finished because Jemma is screaming by then!

My little Jaycie bug
(she wiggled her arms out of her sack! This is how Jadyn and Greg sleep too!).

I'm anxious to see how her personality continues to develop. We are so blessed to have her as part of our life!
