The Franz Family Plague - Part II

Well well well

I must be honest and tell you that the last time I wrote here about the Franz family plague I really thought we  were almost done. Little did I know.

I know I left of sharing that Jemma was running a fever. Well, I remembered shortly after that that the doctor warned us that the girls may run fevers 1 week after one of the shots they received the week before. Because the fever was otherwise "symptom-less" we chalked it up as a shot fever.

Monday and Tuesday were great days. The girls were all happy. Still snotty. Still fussier than normal, but much much happier compared to the last 10 days. Wednesday they girls were fussier again. I honestly just chalked it up to having 2 good days in a row.

Today Jaycie woke up and I knew we were in trouble. She didn't want to do anything except be held. If you know Jaycie at all you know this is not a normal thing. She ate a fairly good breakfast and then just sat on my lap. I loaded the girls up after breakfast and ran a couple errands (starbucks. duh.) and came home and put the girls down for naps. When Jaycie woke up she was burning up. Her temp was 101 at home so I called and made an appointment.

We went to doc at 1. That was interesting.I had Jemma in an umbrella stroller and Jadyn pushed her. I carried Jaycie. I must pause for a moment and brag on Jadyn. She did AWESOME. She pushed Jemma for me. She entertained Jemma in the doc office. She was a rock star big sister.
Anyway, at the docs office Jaycie's temp was 103 and she has a double ear infection.

Oy vey.

I must also take a moment here to give a big SHOUT OUT to my friend James who ran to the pharmacy and got Jaycie's prescription for me.

I got both girls down for naps.
Jemma only slept about 30 min. (I usually get 1.5 hrs/2 hrs from her).
She was burning up.

So, I kept my calm. I started crying. Got a hold of one of Greg's co-workers who sent him home (school was almost out) and I took Jemma to the docs office.

Her temp was 101. Double Ear infection.

So, all 3 girls are on amoxicillin. The babies are on a Tylenol regimen.

If you are one of my praying friends would you pray with me about a few things:
1. That we won't pass the crud around again.
2. That Jaycie and Jemma won't have diarrhea (the amoxicillin has caused issues in the past).
3. That I can get over the crud. My cough is making it difficult to sleep.
4. That Greg, who hasn't got it yet, won't get it.

Thank you.
I am so over the Franz Family Plague.
It can kindly see it's way out.
and NEVER return.

The Franz Family Plague - Day 10

It all started the day of the twins birthday party.

As you may recall the babies were a bit snotty the day of their party. I attributed it to teething or possibly allergies since we had had some warmer weather. It only made them slightly cranky but nothing too impossible to work with. Little did I know.

Saturday morning Jadyn woke up feeling crummy. I found out later that she actually started feeling crummy Friday night - I just wasn't aware of it. She was super congested. By Saturday night she had gunky eyes. Uh oh.

Sunday morning I made Greg take her to urgent care at our peds office. I wanted to quadruple check that it wasn't pink eye.
(Can you believe they got put in the Star Wars room? Greg was excited. Haha)
It wasn't. But they did give us an antibiotic as a preventative for pink eye. More of a "let's be on the safe side." Well, we went to get the drops for her eye and they were crazy expensive so we didn't get them.

By Monday afternoon she was worse. We needed the drops. A friend got them for us and together the 3 of us got the drops in her eyes.

By now the babies were starting to get more congested. But no goopy eyes.

Tuesday everybody stayed the same.

Wednesday morning Jadyn seemed better so I let her go to school. She had a fine day - she loves school so was happy to be there. She and I came home and snuggled. At 3:40 she woke up from a short nap and started screaming. She screamed until 4:20 when my Mom could get here and take her back to urgent care.

Ear infection.
By Wed night poor thing was on 4 meds.

By Thursday night she was a new girl. Feeling much better, but her sisters had taken a turn for the worse. Now they had goopy eyes.

Friday was the same.

Saturday the babies were fussy but we thought they were getting better - turning a corner. It was a nice feeling.

Until

Sunday Jemma came down with a fever.

AHHHHHHHHHH.

I am currently in a state of denial.
I'm pretending it isn't snowing outside.
I'm pretending my girls are all happy and healthy.
I'm pretending my house is clean.
I'm pretending the laundry isn't overflowing.

I think I will stay here for awhile.

Big Sister Day

If we are facebook friends then you might remember that Jadyn had a difficult time when the babies first came home. She does really well with change when we have time to prepare her but since her sisters came 6 weeks early after my water broke she was immediately thrown into a new situation.

It took her a few weeks of extra snuggle time, outbursts, and major adjustment but she has become an AWESOME big sister! She loves to play with her sisters and she is really good at it!

We wanted to celebrate Jadyn's adjustment this past year to being such an awesome big sister and really just let her know we are proud of her, so we had a little party.

The babies were still a bit fussy and Jadyn was sick but my parents and Rod and Kathy came over for lunch and we made a big deal about Jadyn.

She is such an awesome help and an absolute job to have around!
Love you girly!

First birthday

Well, we survived.

The babies are 1. It's hard to believe they've been with us a whole year! What a year it's been. The girls truly have changed our lives!

We had a quiet day on Wednesday with a small birthday celebration that night. Jadyn gave the girls their presents.

The main event was their party on Friday. We had a great time with friends and family (my side). Jaycie came down with a cold on Thursday and lovingly shared it with her little sister and older sister. What a sweet girl she is! Anyway, Jaycie and Jemma were a wee bit (I'm Irish - it's the 17th)  fussy for the party.

Okay, maybe they were really fussy,

Anyway, they were still cute. They had fun opening eating their presents.

Without further adieu - here are a few pictures.  Here are a ton of pictures. It's a family blog. :)

 Jaycie eating card
 Jaycie eating diapers
 Jaycie going for card
Jaycie getting ready to eat tissue paper
Jemma trying to open present (she had lots of help! - so cute)
 Jemma opening present
 Jemma listening to Jadyn
Their first birthday cakes, made by Mommy. Must admit, I'm pretty impressed with my free-handed sprinkle 1's :)

Jemma and Uncle Rod

Happy birthday, Jaycie and Jemma! We love you very much!

I've had a rough weekend.

We've had a rough weekend.

Some things happened.

They weren't fun.

Those things will cause lots of Change.

I hate change.

I have to change.

Then I these two status updates popped up on my facebook feed:

From tonight's message: When we make critical decisions without godly wisdom, there are destructive results. Pastor Bill Gibbs

From tonight's message: Good results achieved by wrong methods do not glorify God. The ends do not justify the means. Pastor Bill Gibbs

Holy Moly.

I will glorify God.

It is my goal.

Jeremiah 29:13
Proverbs 3:5-6.

Search for Him.

I pray that I will seek Him with my whole heart because that's what He commands.

A little this

I'm not sure what happened around here. Suddenly my babies are big. They are not walking but very close and they are excellent at moving. And getting in to things. And pulling each other's hair. And tackling big sis. And....
it's busy.
Around here.

I pulled out a bunch of Jadyn's clothes from this age. We found these shoes. Jaycie is in pink and Jemma is in brown. Jadyn thinks it so cool when they wear her old stuff! This was valentines day outfits. Cute valentines bows too :)

(don't mind the light near Jaycie's face)

Play time. Look at these sweet faces. They are deceitful.
Kidding.
It's been a long day.

They are sweet.
Even when Jemma poops during nap, smears it all over her face, crib and the walls.
Sweet and stinky.

This is Jaycie's "go-to" face when she's making the big "oh" face.
She is so cute.
They both are.
They both are cute and both have sweet faces
and both do wicked things.

Jadyn just got home from her big Arizona trip. This picture was taken right before she left.
Nana's girls!

The babies turn 1 in a little over a week.
I'm freaking out.
I'm excited.

I promise to have multiple updates.
Maybe.
