Grandma's House

In June Greg and I had the opportunity to to make a weekend run to Dallas to see the new Bush Presidential Center. We had so much fun! It wouldn't have been possible without the help of Grandma and Grandpa who willingly kept the girls all weekend. Greg and I left Friday evening, drove to Big Cabin, Ok. We spent the night and then headed to Dallas. We spent the night in Dallas and drove back the next day. It was so much fun!
Anyhoo, here are some pics from our adventure.

We drove though Oklahoma where there was no starbucks, so I stocked up before we crossed the stateline coming come.
On our way home we stopped to get some snacks. Greg made a good friend.
Some of the sights of Oklahoma. The horse and buggy ran across the street in front of the cars in front of us. We really thought they were going to be hit. It was kind of scary!
The girlies at Grandma's . See all the doors tied shut! Haha.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for keeping the girls so we could go on our adventure!!

Tea Party

Clear back at the beginning of the summer Jadyn hosted a tea party. We invited 6 little girls and 4 of them were able to come. We had the tea party at my parents house. It was so much fun! We set up a table in the front yard and served sandwiches and cupcakes. The girls had pink lemonade and Jadyn sent them home with jars of skittles. The girls wore cute dresses and played in the front yard. It was gorgeous weather and the mom's got to visit too. I hope we can do it again soon!

Ear infections - AGAIN

On Monday we had a tea party (more on that later). My mother-in-law kindly stayed with the twins so my attention could be on Jadyn. She let me know that Jemma was feeling rather feverish and when I got home I discovered that Jemma was running a fever. She also hadn't had a wet diaper and wasn't eating 100%.

So off to the doctor we went.
I decided to take Jaycie as well since she had just finished another round of antibiotic - I wanted to make sure her ears were clear.

Jemma wasn't feeling the greatest when we got there, so Jaycie went first. Jaycie seemed fine but when the doc looked in her ears she had an ear infection in BOTH.
Good grief.
Jemma had an ear infection just in 1 ear.
Both girls are on antibiotics. This time it's a kind that gives them diarrhea and makes it red. Super!
Jemma has had a rough go. She only wants to be held - which is great except for when there are 2 other girls to take care of! Anyhoo, I'm very much looking forward to getting over the ear stuff. It's making long days for Mommy!

Rainy Day

This has been our first week of Summer vacation. It has been very very rainy. So rainy that we've been dealing with flooding in the area. Jadyn was especially bummed that it was rainy again so I opened the door and sent her outside. :)
She was a bit skeptical at first but was quickly prancing in rain. If Jaycie hadn't decided to skip her nap I would have joined her! I didn't think getting Jaycie out in it was the best idea since she's battling another ear infection (and NO. TUBES are not an option).

Oh and yes, she is in her jammies.
I love this girl. :)

a photo shoot

If you follow me on facebook you've seen most of these pictures. If you don't follow then you haven't seen them all. :)
We missed out on 1 year pictures with the twins. It's okay - we missed out on newborn pictures too. I have plenty of pictures around so I'm sure we have plenty of documentation of their sweet little lives. I was bummed though so on a nice evening, about a  month late, we took the girls outside and I snapped some pictures. (194 to be exact). I am by no means a professional, but I think I did a decent job this time. Plus I've caught on that if I take enough pictures a couple are bound to turn out!

It also helped that I have beautiful subjects to work with :)

Preschool graduation

Jadyn graduated from preschool (again) a few weeks ago. She is so cute! It was cool to see how much she has grown from last year. She is really doing a great job. She has 1 more year of preschool before we get to kindergarten. She got to start preschool a year early but because of state laws can't start K early, so we are enjoying another year!
She is starting to really pick out sight words. I'm a reader, Daddy's a reader, and we have prayed that the girls would be readers too!

Here's my sweet girl marching in wearing her new maxi dress. :)

I love love love when she waves from stage. I hope she always will!

Perfect shot Daddy!

Now, we are ready for summer!

lawn mowers and strollers

We've had a few stings of good weather days. They are AWESOME. Jadyn gets to go outside - she loves to be outside.
We have giant, old trees in our yard. They are awesome for the shade factor. They are terrible for the lush lawn factor. It's rather painful to run around our yard barefoot. So, the babies are usually stroller bound when we go outside. They really like it though as long as they are moving.

Last week Greg got the mower out to mow the yard and halfway through the belt came off. His dad is good at fixing the mower so he stopped by. The girls all got to play outside a little longer....
and everyone was happy.

Jadyn "driving" the lawn mower.

I feel like this is a better idea of what Jadyn will be like driving...

Jaycie. She's always serious when she's doing something new. It sometimes takes her awhile to warm up to a new place or new thing but once she does she's good!

Jemma. A little more adventuresome at this point in life.

The girlies. :)
They both laugh a lot. I just happened to catch Jemma at this point in time.

Before you think, "good grief, another picture of the twins in the stroller...." look at their hands. At some point in our stroller adventure Jemma reached over and grabbed Jaycie's hand and they stayed like that for quite some time!
